Exciting times for bike innovation!

This past week has seen many new and interesting announcements coming from the Taipei International Cycle Show.

One such example, the SRAM Force CX1 group, that takes the best features of the SRAM 1x11 mountain systems and applies them to the needs of cyclocross. The advantages of this is something that we touched on in our cassette post a few weeks back. The simple and secure design will add an interesting option for racers and casual riders alike (I am interested in the possibility of its application for a fun commuter for myself).

A while back, we linked to an article about the possibility changes coming to the UCI rules, possible opening the door for disc brakes in road racing. It now appears that those early reports are coming closer to fruition, with the UCI warming up to the World Federation of the Sporting Goods Industry. Head over to BikeRadar for the full article.
